AADHAAR UPDATE-UIDAI Rolls Out New Security Mechanism For Robust Fingerprint

UIDAI deploys new security measures for robust fingerprints

In a statement, UIDAI announced the new security measures for fingerprint-based Aadhaar authentication, saying “it makes Aadhaar authentication transactions more robust and more secure”.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a new security mechanism for Aadhaar-based fingerprint authentication and quick detection of spoofing attempts, an official statement said on Monday.  An in-house developed artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) based security system is now using "a combination of both finger minutes and finger images" to verify the vitality of captured fingerprints.

In a statement, UIDAI announced the new security measures for fingerprint-based Aadhaar authentication, saying “it makes Aadhaar authentication transactions more robust and more secure”.  “The new two-factor/level authentication adds add-on checks to verify the fingerprint’s authenticity (life) to reduce the chance of spoofing attempts,” the statement said.

This development is expected to result in greater use in the banking and finance, telecommunications, and government sectors. This will strengthen the Aadhaar-enabled payment system and prevent malicious attempts by unscrupulous elements, thus benefiting the bottom of the pyramid. The new security system of Aadhaar-based fingerprint authentication is now fully operational, the statement said.

UIDAI made sustained efforts with the authentication user organizations to inform them (AUAs/Sub AUAs) about the benefits of the new system. AUA is an entity providing Aadhaar-enabled services to 12-digit ID holders using authentication with the help of an authentication service provider. Sub-AUAs are organizations that use Aadhaar authentication to enable their services through existing requesting entities.

The UIDAI Headquarters and its Regional Offices have contacted all organizations to facilitate early switching to the new secure authentication mode for any user organizations (which are not yet migrated).  The adoption of Aadhaar-based authentication transactions is on an upward trend as it has been proven to be able to achieve several welfare benefits and services.

"By the end of December 2022, the cumulative number of Aadhaar authentication transactions has crossed 88.29 billion and an average of 70 million transactions per day. Most of these are fingerprint-based authentication, showing its use and usefulness in daily life. has been added.

What is Swachh Bharat Abhiyan?

Swachh Bharat Andolan: This mission was begun by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 2 October 2014 at Raj Ghat in New Delhi determined to make India clean. Its goal is to provide sanitation facilities including toilets, solid and liquid waste disposal systems, village sanitation, and safe and adequate drinking water to every family by October 2, 2019.

This will be the most fitting tribute to the Father of the Nation of India on his 150th birthday. It is very important that the Prime Minister himself is playing a proactive role to make this campaign a success; He himself started this campaign by cleaning the roads at Rajghat.

Whereas, it has already been determined that this campaign is not only the duty of the government but it is the responsibility of all citizens of this country to make the nation clean.

 History of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan:-

The campaign of the Swachh Bharat movement is a big step taken till date related to cleanliness. In order to make this campaign famous globally and to make the general public aware of it, about 3 lakh government employees including students of schools and colleges participated in it on the day of its launch. This program was organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 2 October 2014 in the presence of 1500 people. Indian President Pranab Mukherjee started this movement by showing the flag.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi nominated nine eminent personalities from the business, sports, and film industries to take this campaign forward. He also requested those nine persons to join this campaign and take this movement of cleanliness to every single Indian living in every nook and corner of the country.

Narendra Modi said that this campaign should be taken as a challenge and other nine people should be invited personally (like branches of a tree) so that this vision of cleanliness can be fulfilled by 2019 and India will be clean forever in history. Be a country

Taking motivation from this Indian mission, on 3 January 2015, the Indo-Nepal Doctor Association dispatched a mission called "Swachh Bharat Nepal – Swachh Bharat Nepal Abhiyan".. It started in the Indo-Nepal border region, Sunauli-Belihiya (birthplace of Lord Buddha, holy city of Lumbini, Nepal).

Other sanitation programs in India such as the Central Rural Sanitation Program (CRSP) were launched in 1986 across the country with a focus on building healthy toilets for personal use by people below the poverty line. Its objective was to convert dry latrines into low-cost hygienic latrines, construction of latrines especially for rural women, and other facilities like a hand pump, bathroom, hygienic, hand hygiene, etc.

The goal was that all available facilities would be properly maintained by the Gram Panchayat. Proper sanitation of the village like drainage system, absorbing pit, disposal of solid and liquid waste, awareness about health education, social, personal, household and environmental sanitation system, etc.

The Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) of cleanliness in India was started in 1999 by the Government of India to revamp the rural sanitation program. Nirmal Gram Puraskar was started in the month of June 2003 under the cleanliness program to promote a complete cleanliness campaign. This was an incentive scheme which was started by the Government of India in 2003 after giving detailed information about complete sanitation to the people, to keep the environment clean as well as to make the village free from open defecation by Panchayats, Blocks, and Districts. Was.

Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan was started in 2012 and after that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan started on 2 October 2014. While all the sanitation systems and cleanliness programs run by the Indian government in the past were not as effective as the current 2014 Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Purpose of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan:-

To fulfill the mission and vision of "Clean India" by 2nd October 2019, the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was started by the Indian government to achieve many goals, which will be the 150th birthday of the great Mahatma Gandhi. It is expected that there is an estimated expenditure of 62000 crores in Indian Rupees (9.7 b$). It has been announced by the government that this campaign is on politics and is inspired by patriotism.

Following are some important objectives of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan:-

Root elimination of open defecation system in India. Conversion of unhealthy latrines into flush latrines.

Reuse of disposals and recycling of municipal solid waste through thorough scientific processes.

To provide the necessary environment for the private sector to participate in the capital expenditure for all operations and the expenditure related to the cleanliness campaign.

Corporate India and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan:-

Heeding the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Corporate India has also pledged to make this campaign a success.

He moved forward with enthusiasm.

Public and private companies are being involved in sanitation activities under mandatory Corporate Social Responsibility which is a legal requirement under the Companies Act 2013. CSR is a mechanism by which companies invest capital for the good cause of society as a whole.

Recently big corporate houses like LNT, DLF, Vedanta, Bharti, TCS, Ambuja Cement, Toyota Kirloskar, Maruti, Tata Motors, Coca Cola, Dober, Aditya Birla, Adani, Infosys, TVS and many others have fixed budgets. For the Clean India campaign. According to an estimate, several sanitation projects worth 1000 crores are in the pipeline by the corporate sector. These projects, including the construction of toilets in remote villages, conduct workshops to bring about behavioral change, waste management, and clean water and sanitation activities among other things.

Inviting corporate funds in a bid for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the government recently decided that corporate participation in the scheme would count towards CSR expenditure. And later to clarify this, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs also amended Schedule 7 of the Companies Act to specify that contributions to the Swachh Bharat Kosh would be eligible for CSR. Therefore, not only the government and private individuals but also the corporate sector are playing their part in making India clean.

How to join Swachh Bharat Abhiyan?

All he has to do is take a picture of the dirty places and after that, he has to take the picture after cleaning the place and upload the before and after photo on social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, etc. to do the same thing. Other common people should be aware and inspired by this so that they can fulfill the vision of Swachh Bharat.

After such an appeal by the Indian Prime Minister to the Indian public, it started rapidly by the people of India. People were very active and inspired from the day the event was started and to make it global it was started the same way by taking before and after snaps and uploading them on social media websites. We as Indians need to take a broom in our hands to make the place around us clean and perfect.

Most of the school and college students participated in the group program so why are we behind? We should also actively participate in this. The media also promoted this campaign through its articles and news publications.
