Saur Sujala Yojana
Saur Sujala Yojana is a new scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 1 November 2016 in Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh
It was launched for the well-being and welfare of the farmers of Chhattisgarh. Under Saur Sujala Yojana, the state government will provide solar-powered irrigation pumps to farmers in Chhattisgarh so that they can do agriculture and irrigation on their land.
There are many villages in Chhattisgarh where electricity has not been provided by the state government even today. Therefore, Saur Sujala Yojana is like a boon for those farmers who needed electricity for irrigation.
Objective of Saur Sujala Yojana :-
The fundamental target of Saur Sujala Yojana is to enable the ranchers by furnishing them with sun-powered water system siphons at sponsored rates.
This scheme will not only make farmers more able to cultivate their land but will also help in strengthening agriculture and rural development in rural Chhattisgarh under this scheme.
Under Saur Sujala Yojana, the government will distribute solar-powered irrigation pumps of 3HP and 5HP capacity respectively to the farmers. The pumps will be made available to the farmers at concessional rates till March 31, 2019.
Under the Saur Sujala Yojana, in the next two years, about 51000 farmers will be benefited in Chhattisgarh. This scheme will be implemented on a priority basis in those areas where electricity has not yet been reached.
Implementation of Saur Sujala Yojana :-
This scheme will be implemented by CREDA (Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency) / CREDA (Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency) under the Energy Department of Chhattisgarh Government. Under this scheme, within the current financial year i.e. 2017-18, about 11000 Solar Irrigation Pumps will be distributed to the farmers in many areas of the state.
Recipients under Saur Sujala Yojana will be chosen by the Agriculture Department of the State Government. Farmers who are already benefited under Borewell or Pump Scheme will also be eligible for this scheme.
Types of Solar Pumps Distributed under Saur Sujala Yojana:-
Under the Saur Sujala Yojana, the Modi government will distribute 2 types of solar pumps to the beneficiaries. The capacity and configuration of these solar pumps will be different. The first of these solar pumps are of 3HP. This can be beneficial for small-scale farmers for performing their irrigation activities.
The second solar pump is of 5HP which has more capacity and can pump more water. This can be beneficial for medium-scale farmers for performing their irrigation activities. Both these sun-based siphons are exceptionally productive and specialized help is given by CREDA (Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency) in the establishment and upkeep of these siphons.
Concessional rates of solar pumps under Saur Sujala Yojana:-
Presently the market price of a 5HP Solar Pump is 4.5 lakhs. Under the Saur Sujala Yojana, these solar pumps will be made available to the farmers at subsidized rates. The discounted price of the 5HP Solar Pump will be around 10,000- 20,000 which is not fixed at this time.
At the same time, the market price of a 3HP Solar Pump with a working capacity is 3.5 lakhs. These solar pumps will be provided to the eligible farmers under the scheme at a subsidized price of 7,000-18,000. So it is a huge discount on pumps otherwise it would have been unaffordable for the poor farmers.
How to register under Saur Sujala Yojana :-
The Agriculture Department of the Government of Chhattisgarh is the main registering authority for the beneficiaries of this scheme. Farmers are free to apply, but eligible candidates will be selected by the Agriculture Department to distribute solar pumps at concessional rates. The application form for this scheme is available in block offices and agriculture offices.
The application has to be filled properly and submitted along with the required documents to the agriculture offices only. There is also an application fee for this scheme. After receiving the application, it is checked by CREDA (Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency) whether the applicant is eligible for this scheme or not.
Required information of beneficiary to join Saur Sujala Yojana:-
The Agriculture Department is responsible for collecting the necessary information from the applicant for this scheme. Collect the name and address of the beneficiary along with proper documents like identity proof and address proof. Aadhar number is mandatory to join this scheme.
After the verification of these documents, the information of the beneficiary's bank account is required. The applicant will have to provide information about one of his Savings Bank Accounts. The applicant will also have to compulsorily provide his mobile number. The beneficiaries will be updated about the project through SMS.
