A special camp was organized by Pune Division at Wagholi on Thursday.

This was the fifth one-day camp launched by India Post's Pune City East Postal Department in Pune Division since October. Total

1,491 beneficiaries have availed of the special services. Of these, 359 have registered a new Aadhaar, 296 have updated their existing Aadhaar card details and 836 people have linked their mobile Aadhar cards.

UIDAI provides all facilities related to Aadhaar online, alternatively, the post office also provides similar services throughout the day. some of them-

Postal officials say such special camps can accommodate more people than they can handle.

“It may take 15 to 20 minutes for each Aadhaar to be registered or updated. Thus, around 50 enrollments or updates have been completed.

The post office is run at the center on a daily basis,” said Gopraju Satish, senior superintendent, post office, Pune City East Division.

India Post has introduced Aadhaar-Mobile linking in the last two months. This service is available for all existing Aadhar cardholders

Registered mobile phone users.

"If a citizen wants to link his mobile with Aadhar card, he can contact the postman of his area who will visit his home and complete the linking.

Process' added Satish.

A similar camp was organized in Vimannagar and Vadgaon Sheri area before the Wagholi camp in collaboration with Anil Sathav Patil Foundation.

The foundation helped 500 girls get enrolled in the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana that day.

India Post officials have asked NGOs and housing societies in the city to find places for citizens to gather and camp.
